What is in an Estate Plan? We’re glad you asked.

  • A Will

A will sets out what you want to happen to your assets and possessions after you die and who you want to be executor. It can also appoint a guardian if you have children under the age of 18.

  • Enduring Power of Attorney

An Enduring Power of Attorney allows you to appoint someone you trust to manage your finances, assets and legal affairs on your behalf if you become unable to do so.

  • Advance Care Directive

An Advance Care Directive allows you to appoint a trusted person to be your substitute decision maker and make healthcare decisions if you are unable to. It can also record your wishes for future health care in case you lose capacity to make healthcare decisions.

  • Superannuation

Superannuation does not automatically form part of your estate when you die. This makes it an important part of the estate planning conversation, as most super funds allow you to nominate a beneficiary. We make recommendations about binding death benefit nominations and prepare them if necessary.

  • Letter of Wishes

A Letter of Wishes is a personal letter you write to your executors outlining your more personal wishes. We send you the Letter of Wishes template to complete after our first meeting. Please note this document is not legally binding and is complimentary.
